On this day in 2016, Max Scherzer struck out TWENTY Tigers hitters in a game to tie a MLB record. He joined Roger Clemens (1986), Kerry Wood (1998) and Randy Johnson (2001) as the only pitchers to strikeout 20 hitters in a game. Scherzer also broke a Nats record for strikeouts in a game.
