How Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins will make up Friday’s postponed doubleheader

Detroit Free Press

The Detroit Tigers’ return from the All-Star break was a washout.

Their scheduled doubleheader with the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park on Friday was postponed due to inclement weather. They’ll make up one of the games on Saturday as part of split doubleheader at 1:10 p.m. Their scheduled game will still be played at 6:10 p.m.

The other postponed game will be made up on a previously-scheduled off-day Monday, Aug. 30 at 2:10 p.m. That will be a nine-inning contest.

Rescheduling the games became somewhat complicated since the Twins were not scheduled to return to Detroit this season. Minnesota also has a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox on Monday, which essentially nixed the possibility of rescheduling both games against the Tigers this weekend.
