Game notes: The Tigers come into the series having taken the final of three games vs. the New York Yankees. Expect a rowdy Comerica Park crowd, the stadium was alive Thursday as Miguel Cabrera tried for career hit No. 3,000. Fans let Yankees manager Aaron Boone know they were not pleased that he ordered an intentional walk of Cabrera with runners in scoring position during the eighth inning. Cabrera will likely get the start and another shot at history Friday; he has no official at-bats vs. Sanzatela in his career.

Sanzatela beat the Chicago Cubs last time out, allowing one run and striking out two over five innings. Colorado has yet to lose a series on the young season, taking two of three from the Los Angeles Dodgers, sweeping two games vs. the Texas Rangers and splitting four games with the Cubs before winning a three-game set this week with the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Rockies and Tigers finish the series with two 1:10 p.m. starts this weekend.
