Game notes: Sunday’s rubber match between the Tigers and Rockies gives Detroit a chance to clinch its first series victory over a National League club since sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers in a two-game set in September.

They’ll face Chad Kuhl, who has made two solid starts this season — his latest coming in a six-inning, four-strikeout effort against the Philadelphia Phillies. For the Tigers, Tyler Alexander will look to pick up his first victory of the season, following a disappointing outing against the New York Yankees.

Javier Báez (thumb injury) returns to the lineup after missing nine games; Miguel Cabrera gets a rest day after his historic Saturday, reaching 3,000 career MLB hits.

Tigers lineup:

1. Grossman, RF

2. Meadows, DH

3. Báez, SS

4. Candelario, 3B

5. Schoop, 2B

6. Torkelson, 1B

7. Haase, LF

8. Barnhart, C

9. Baddoo, CF
