INJURY BUG KEEPS BITING: Tigers get Austin Meadows, Víctor Reyes back only briefly vs. Orioles

Game notes: The Tigers swept the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend, finishing with a dominating 5-1 win and some great pitching from Tarik Skubal. The Rays took two of three from the Toronto Blue Jays, ending with a 3-0 win Sunday.

Faedo makes his third career start. He’s given up exactly two runs in five innings each of the past two appearances, but looked better the second time out with seven strikeouts and four hits allowed.

Kluber, a two-time Cy Young in nine seasons with Cleveland, is no stranger to the Tigers. He’s faced no team more, with 171 innings pitched vs. Detroit. In his career he’s 13-7 with a 3.32 ERA, 158 hits and 183 strikeouts. He’s been great against Jeimer Candelario (.118 batting average in 17 at-bats) and Robbie Grossman (.083 in 12 at-bats) but Miguel Cabrera (.362, six home runs in 69 at-bats) has had some success against him.

The teams play at 6:40 p.m Tuesday before finishing the series with at 1:10 p.m. start Wednesday.
