Game notes: The Tigers and Rodriguez, one of the team’s key free agent signings this past offseason, will try to win the series vs. Rays. Tampa snapped a four-game Detroit win streak on Tuesday behind a strong start from lefty Shane McClanahan.

The Rays do not play Thursday then start a road series Friday with the Baltimore Orioles. The Tigers get a long-awaited day off Thursday after playing every day, and sometimes twice a day, since May 2. Detroit then starts a three-game series in Cleveland.
