The Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians had their Friday’s game, scheduled for 7:10 p.m., postponed because of inclement weather at Comerica Park.
The grounds crew brought the tarp onto the field at 5:08 p.m. in preparation for significant rain. First pitch was delayed at 6:28 p.m. and the game was officially called at 6:50 p.m.
Friday’s postponed game will be made up as the second game of a split nine-inning doubleheader July 4 in Detroit, following the originally scheduled game at 1:10 p.m. The second game will begin at 6:40 p.m.
