Detroit Tigers (24-35) vs. Chicago White Sox (27-31)

When: 7:10 p.m. Monday.

Where: Comerica Park in Detroit.

TV: Bally Sports Detroit.

Radio: WXYT-FM (97.1) (Tigers radio affiliates).

Starting pitchers: Tigers RHP Rony García (0-1, 4.50 ERA)  vs. White Sox RHP Lance Lynn (2022 season debut).

• Box score

Game notes: Monday is the start of a three-game set between the Tigers and White Sox. This is no ordinary three-game set, though, as both teams enter the series on the skids. The Tigers are fourth in the AL Central, which is disappointing, but not nearly as much so as the White Sox, a team with World Series aspirations entering the season, who have bottomed out and are under .500.

While Rony García makes the start for Detroit, the White Sox were scheduled to start Johnny Cueto, but Cueto was needed for five innings Sunday when Michael Kopech departed early with an ankle injury. Now Lance Lynn will make his season debut for Chicago. Lynn was 11-6 with a 2.69 ERA last season, his first with the Sox.
