Detroit Tigers (26-41) vs. Boston Red Sox (37-31)

When: 7:10 p.m. Tuesday.

Where: Fenway Park in Boston.

TV: Bally Sports Detroit.

Radio: WXYT-FM (97.1) (Tigers radio affiliates).

First-pitch forecast: Low-70s.

Probable pitchers: Tigers RHP Beau Brieske (1-5, 3.79 ERA)vs. Red Sox LHP Rich Hill (2-4, 4.24 ERA)

Tigers lineup: TBA.

Game notes: It’s the middle meeting in a three-game series. Brieske makes his first career start vs. Boston, and has been on a tear this month. In 18⅔ innings across three starts he has 15 strikeouts with 13 hits and just two earned runs allowed. The Red Sox pose a threat, ranking in the top 10 in batting average (.258), slugging percentage (.413) and runs (317).

Hill has suited up for 11 teams but never the Tigers; in 18 total appearances (five starts) 4.03 ERA in 38 innings vs. the Tigers. His 11.1 strikeout rate per nine innings is one of his highest against any team. Miguel Cabrera has a home run in 16 at-bats and is hitting .313 vs. Hill. But Javier Baez .182 in 11 and Jonathan Schoop .077 in 13 have struggled mightily vs. the lefty.

The series ends with a 7:10 p.m. game Wednesday.
