TOLEDO – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders defeat the Toledo Mud Hens 7-2 on Thursday night at Fifth Third Field.
The Mud Hens tallied seven hits as a team. Their first hit was a Ryan Kreidler solo home run that got them on the board in the 4th to make it 6-1.

The Mud Hens tallied seven hits as a team. Their first hit was a Ryan Kreidler solo home run that got them on the board in the 4th to make it 6-1. John Valente and Jamie Westbrook each tallied two hits. Valente picked up two singles with an RBI and Westbrook smacked two doubles. The home run was Kreidler’s lone hit. Daz Cameron and Brendon Davis each picked up a hit as well.

Nivaldo Rodriguez took the loss on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits, one home run and five strikeouts. Shea Spitzbarth came in to relieve Rodriguez, pitching 1.1 innings, allowing two hits, three walks and two strikeouts. Angel De Jesus pitched 1.0 inning, tallying a strikeout. Luis Castillo pitched a scoreless 1.0 inning in relief. Ricardo Pinto pitched 1.0 inning, allowing one run on three hits. Drew Carlton pitched 1.0 inning, allowing one hit and one strikeout.

What’s Next: The Toledo Mud Hens will host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders for game four of the series at Fifth Third Field on Friday for Marvel’s Defender of the Diamond night, with first pitch at 7:05 pm
