Greene turns this dive into Play of the Week honors

Detroit Tigers

Rookie outfielder Riley Greene of the Detroit Tigers earned his first career Play of the Week Award and is Detroit’s first winner since his teammate Daz Cameron in May 2021.

In the bottom of the sixth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field, Greene sprinted to right-center field to lay out and make the fully extended diving catch.

Additional Play of the Week candidates included Jack Suwinski’s catch over the wall in foul territory at Tropicana Field; Kyle Tucker’s catch against the wall to prevent an extra-base hit; Cedric Mullins’ fully extended diving catch in right-center field; and Taylor Walls’ diving stop from shortstop and throw from one knee to nab the runner at second base.
