First-pitch forecast: Low-60s, wind gusts nearing 20 mph

Probable pitchers: Tigers RHP Rony Garcia (2-2, 4.57 ERA) vs. Giants LHP Alex Wood (5-6, 5.05 ERA).

Game notes: Garcia has won his last two decision, and his most recent was a gem, going 5⅓ innings Friday vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing one run and three hits. Wood is hoping to bounce back after getting shelled for six runs on four hits and two walks in just one inning vs. the Atlanta Braves. 

Both teams are off Thursday, with the Giants staying in interleague play by hosting the Chicago White Sox over the weekend and Tigers returning to American League competition when the Kansas City Royals come to town Friday.
