ST. PAUL, MN – The Toledo Mud Hens defeated the St. Paul Saints 10-1 on Thursday night in St. Paul. The Mud Hens were propelled by Cody Sedlock’s strong Mud Hens debut, and four team home runs, as well as a strong showing from the bullpen.

On the offensive side of the ball, Kody Clemens, Daz Cameron, Ali Sanchez and Kerry Carpenter each tallied a home run. Carpenter, Sanchez and Jamie Westbrook each tallied two hits on the evening. Carpenter with a two-run home run and an RBI single to lead the way. Sanchez had his two-run home run and tallied a double. Westbrook notched two singles and an RBI. Clemens and Cameron each homered for their lone hits, Clemens tallying two RBI and Cameron plating one RBI. Josh Lester had a single as well to round out the offense.

The Mud Hens played errorless baseball, backing the dominant pitching staff. New acquisition Cody Sedlock pitched very well against the Saints, allowing one run on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts over his 5.0 innings, tallying the win. Angel De Jesus was the first arm out of the bullpen, pitching 1.0 inning, allowing one hit. Nolan Blackwood pitched 2.0 innings of relief, allowing one hit, one walk and two strikeouts. Miguel Del Pozo finished out the game, pitching 1.0 inning and striking out all three batters he faced.

What’s Next – The Toledo Mud Hens will remain in St. Paul for game four of the six game series on Friday night, with first pitch coming at 8:07 pm EST.
