Billy Cook opened the fifth inning against him with a solo home run to give Bowie a 1-0 lead. After a walk and a Donta’ Williams double, Greg Cullen scored a second run on a sacrifice fly.

Madden finished his day by allowing two runs on two hits with two walks and nine strikeouts.

Jake Higginbotham took over in the sixth. A catcher’s interference, a single, and a walk loaded the bases against him with no outs. Cook then hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0. John Rhodes followed with an RBI infield single to make it 4-0.

The SeaWolves began their rally with a run against reliever Keagan Gillies in the sixth. After Justice Bigbie walked and advanced to third on a single by Luis Santana, Chris Meyers made it 4-1 on a sacrifice fly.

Xavier Moore took over in the seventh. He walked two batters before Bigbie knocked an RBI single with two out to make it 4-2. Nick Richmond relieved Moore and surrendered a two-run double to Santana to tie the game at four.

In the eighth, the SeaWolves got two runners on with two out against Richmond. Danny Serretti snuck a single into right field to score Corey Joyce with the go-ahead run. It made it a 5-4 game.

Tyler Mattison finished the game with two hitless frames. He faced seven batters and struck out four, including three in the ninth inning. Mattison (2-0) got the win. Richmond (1-1) took the loss.
