The SeaWolves wrapped up the first leg of their road trip with a series win-securing victory in Harrisburg. They defeated the Senators 8-0.

After Erie was shut out yesterday, Trei Cruz prevented that same fate immediately today. He began the game with his tenth home run of the season to give the Howlers an instant 1-0 lead against Harrisburg starter Michael Cuevas.

Lael Lockhart started for Erie and retired the first eight batters he faced. He ultimately went 3.2 innings scoreless, allowing three hits, one walk, and three strikeouts.

The SeaWolves widened the lead in the fourth inning. After Cuevas walked two off the first three batters of the inning, Chris Meyers notched an RBI single. Dillon Dingler followed with a run-scoring single. Later in the inning, Trei Cruz lined a two-run single with the bases loaded and gave Erie a 5-0 lead.

The SeaWolves tacked on three insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning. Erie loaded the bases with one out before Wenceel Perez hit a sacrifice fly. Andrew Navigato followed with a two-run double, giving Erie an 8-0 lead.

Adam Wolf, Blake Holub, and Andrew Magno combined for 5.1 innings of hitless relief. Wolf (2-1) earned the win. Cuevas (2-2) took the loss.

Erie earned its fifth shutout victory of the season. The SeaWolves hold a two-game division lead heading into the final series of the first half. Erie opens a series in Hartford against the Yard Goats on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m.
