Today we’re going to play a little thought experiment in the Friday Open Thread, and we’re going to fantasy cast the Tigers’ 2024 season.
Now this gives a pretty broad allowance to cast whoever you want for players, managers, team owners, whoever you want. If you’re feeling bold, you can even decided to cast a few rival team players who were especially thorny for the team (Steven Yeun as Steven Kwan perhaps?)
What direction would you take with the plot? Would you follow a young prospect making his debut with the team? Or focus on the Tigers’ insane August and September run? There are plenty of options for this movie of the season, some insanely edge-of-your-seat moments. Perhaps Tom Holland as Kerry Carpenter might grace our screens for a 9th inning homer that will live in infamy, or Lucas Till as Parker Meadows making a wild outfield catch to rob a home run.
And don’t feel pigeonholed by modern actors. If you want Steve McQueen to play A.J. Hinch I not only allow it, I encourage it.
