Erie jumped ahead in the top of the second against Harrisburg starter Michael Cuevas. Grant Witherspoon led off and doubled, extending his hitting streak to a season-high seven straight games. Jake Holton singled home Witherspoon for the one-run lead.
Harrisburg tied the game in the home half of the second against Erie starter Wilmer Flores. Leonel Valera led off with a single and was doubled home by Yasel Antuna.
The Senators took the lead in the third. Jack Dunn led off with a base hit and stole second. He scored on a one-out Drew Millas double for a 2-1 lead.
Erie tied the game in the fourth. Ben Malgeri walked and moved to second on a wild pitch. Daniel Cabrera followed with a walk, putting two on base. Two more wild pitches scored Malgeri.
Flores would exit after five fames with a no-decision. He allowed two runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
Harrisburg regained the lead in the sixth against Erie reliever Bryce Tassin when Antuna belted a one-out, solo home run, his second.
The Senators added an insurance run in the seventh. Dunn walked with one out, stole second and scored on a two-out base hit from Millas.
Erie threatened in the ninth against reliever Jack Sinclair. Colt Keith and Wenceel Perez drew back-to-back one out walks, putting the tying run on base. Dillon Dingler then bounced into a game-ending 5-3 double play. Sinclair, in his Double-A debut, earned his first save.
Garvin Alston (1-2) earned the win hurling three scoreless innings in relief. He allowed two hits with no walks and a strikeout.
Tassin (1-1) took the loss allowing two runs on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
