Father’s Night: Dad catches HR while holding baby

Detroit Tigers

Royce Lewis‘ 404-foot solo home run to left field on Friday night at Comerica Park was impressive enough.

But the Twins rookie managed to get upstaged — by an unlikely contender.

A Tigers fan in the third row behind the left-field wall made a nifty barehanded snag, one made all the more impressive by one simple fact: He was holding a small child at the same time. Don’t worry: He didn’t drop either.

With the baby snug in his left arm, the fan snagged Lewis’ leadoff homer with his right hand. He held the baseball up to the crowd, nodding as if to say, “Yeah, I just did that.”
