Madden Posts Career-Best Outing In Erie Win

Ty Madden pitched Erie to 2-0 win over Altoona on Thursday.
Madden tossed a career-high seven innings. Over the seven shutout innings, he allowed two hits, two walks, and struck out eight. He threw a career-high 103 pitches as well.

Madden tossed a career-high seven innings. Over the seven shutout innings, he allowed two hits, two walks, and struck out eight. He threw a career-high 103 pitches as well.

Erie opened the scoring in the fifth inning. Danny Serretti singled with two outs. Then, Omar Cruz walked three consecutive SeaWolves including Dillon Dingler to plate a run.

Jake Holton punched an insurance run through in the eighth inning with a solo blast. It was Holton’s third home run in four games in this series.

Tyler Mattison allowed a walk and a single over two innings over work to secure the save. It was Mattison’s fourth save.

Madden (3-3) earned the win. Cruz (1-3) took the loss.

Erie and Altoona continue the series at 6:00 p.m. on Friday as Adam Wolf opposes Aaron Shortridge.
