MIDLAND, MI – The West Michigan Whitecaps and Great Lakes Loons postponed their contest after scattered thunderstorms made the field conditions unplayable Friday night at Dow Diamond.

A thunderstorm moved through Midland, Michigan, before the scheduled start of Friday’s contest, with heavy rains that adversely affected the playing surface. The Whitecaps took two of this series’s three games, most recently taking down the Loons by a score of 6-2 on Thursday.

The ‘Caps and Loons will begin a doubleheader on Saturday, with the first pitch at 5:05 pm. The Whitecaps send righty Garrett Burhenn to the mound for the first game of the doubleheader, while the Loons start top-30 Dodgers prospect Peter Huebeck.
