Toledo, OH – The Toledo Mud Hens begun their final series of the year against the St. Paul Saints and lost the match-up 4-2.

Nick Solak led off the series with a single to open the game for the Hens. The next batter Colt Keith, worked a walk to put himself on and put runners on first and second with no outs. Later in the inning, Saints starting pitcher Hunter McMahon walked Nick Maton to load the bases with no outs. McMahon would get a huge six-four-three double play on the next batter to end the inning and kept the Mud Hens off the board in the first inning.

Jack O’Loughlin got the nod to start the game on the mound for Toledo. Nick Gordon led-off the home half of the first inning with a double to put himself in scoring position. Later in the inning with one out, Joey Gallo worked a walk at the plate to put runners on first and second. With runners on first and second with one out, O’Loughlin was able to bare down and retire the next two batters without allowing a run to score.

Austin Schulfer entered the game on the mound in the top of the second inning for the Saints and pitched a scoreless frame to begin his outing.

The scoring began for the Saints in the bottom of the second inning. Yunior Severino walked to lead off the inning, then two batters later Jair Camargo unleashed a two-run home run over the right center field wall to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.

The game score would hold at 2-0 until the bottom of the fourth inning. A single and hit by pitch put runners on first and second with no outs. Later in the inning, Joey Gallo hit a one out single that scored a run to make it 3-0 Saints and placing runners on first and third. Trevor Larnach followed Gallo with a single of his own to give the Saints a 4-0 lead after five innings of play.

The bullpen of the Saints kept the Mud Hens scoreless all the way until the top of the ninth inning. With two outs and runner on first, Dillion Dingler smashed a two-run home run to cut the Saints lead half at four-two. Unfortunately for the Hens it was two little, two late as the Saints secured the win.
