Friday Open Thread: What was your favorite Tigers moment of 2024

Bless You Boys

Last week I asked you to think a little outside the usual broadcast box and share your favorite non-Tigers baseball moments of 2024. (I didn’t contribute, but mine was Shohei Ohtani’s dog Decoy getting the opening pitch during a game)

This week, we’re thinking a little closer to home, so I hope your memories aren’t too clouded as we approach that period of winter where calories don’t count and time doesn’t exist.

The Tigers had a very interesting season in 2024. The year started well, then steadily hit a downward slope into Terrible Town. Tarik Skubal was amazing, Riley Greene was an All-Star, but leaving the All-Star break things seemed to be all but done for the club. Then August hit and suddenly the young team started to gel in an unexpected way and the Tigers just… kept winning. They kept winning right into their first postseason since 2014. So, there’s plenty to like about the year, but this week let’s get specific.

What was your favorite Tigers moment of 2024? Was it the Game Two hit heard round the world in the Wild Card series? Was it Parker Meadows’ insane catch against the Mariners? Was it every time Tarik Skubal got the final out of the inning and looked like he had just conquered the Spartans? We want to know what moment you wanted to watch on repeat.
