Detroit Tigers fans will have the chance to get back into the Comerica Park stands.
Don’t expect any sellouts quite yet and don’t forget your debit card.
Limited ticket sales to Tigers games will begin Thursday, the team announced Friday. Just under 8,200 seats, about 20% of Comerica Park’s capacity, will be sold. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Friday eased coronavirus-related restrictions on outdoor venues (while amping up testing for high school sports, the believed source of several COVID-19 cases).
Several changes to mitigate the spread of the virus are in place, including cashless purchases, mask requirements — no neck gaiters or bandanas — and a “gameday wellness survey” that must be completed by each fan. Social distancing and CDC-recommended cleaning practices are expected as well.

Paper tickets will not be sold, per a team policy since 2019.
“All points of sale will require cashless payment methods,” the release states. “Reverse ATMs will be installed at Comerica Park ahead of the home opener, and contactless parking can be reserved in advance through the District Detroit mobile app.”
Other modifications:
• Fans will be seated in pods with at least 6 feet of distance between other groups.
• Select concession locations will be open; food and beverage items can be ordered via mobile phone for pick-up.
• Increased signage to decrease contact near higher-traffic areas.
• Touchless hand sanitizer dispensers with CDC-recommended products.
• All bags, purses and clutches are now prohibited, with medical or diaper bags being the exceptions

“If capacity guidelines are expanded at any point during the 2021 season, the Tigers will be prepared to host additional fans, and increased single-game tickets will be made available,” the team statement reads.
