Detroit Tigers

A day after his nine-strikeout gem against the Blue Jays, Casey Mize has made the Tigers’ rotation, manager A.J. Hinch announced on Friday. The move pushes Michael Fulmer into the bullpen.

Ranked as the club’s No. 2 prospect and No. 11 overall in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline, the 23-year-old right-hander joins Tarik Skubal, the club’s No. 4-ranked prospect, on the Opening Day roster.

Last season, Mize made seven starts for the Tigers, going 0-3 with a 6.99 ERA while fanning 26 and walking 13.
