No-hit sensation Turnbull to have TJ surgery

Tigers breakout right-hander Spencer Turnbull will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the rest of the 2021 season after tests revealed chronic damage in his right elbow, manager A.J. Hinch announced before Tuesday night’s game against the Rangers.

Turnbull, 28, went 4-2 with a 2.88 ERA in nine starts this season, two years after being handed a Major League-high 17 losses in his first full season.
