The Guardians offense is nowhere to be found.

In the midst of a brutal stretch at the plate, the Guardians were overmatched in a 5-0 loss Wednesday afternoon to the Detroit Tigers at Progressive Field. They’ve now scored two or fewer runs in seven of their last 10 games, as a scoring drought is beginning to resemble an offensive desert. They’ve also been shut out five times this season.

The Guardians (17-20) mustered only four hits in the game. Starter Eduardo Rodriguez tossed seven scoreless innings, striking out eight along the way, for the Tigers (17-19).

Guardians starter Peyton Battenfield was hit for five runs — four earned — in six innings.
