Not surprisingly, Lynn pens a great tribute to a fine man. Jim Price wasn’t a polished, cookie-cutter broadcaster, but he was a kind, fun man. He will be missed.

We mourn the passing of Jim Price, a treasured member of the Tigers organization for decades.

He spent all five years of his playing career wearing the Olde English ‘D’, including the 1968 World Series championship season.

This one hurts. Jim Price was one of the first men to truly welcome me into the organization when I first arrived in 2015.

Whenever I got on the bus after a game he would announce, “Johnny Kane’s here everybody. He’s in the big leagues.”

I for one enjoyed Jim Price on the broadcasts as he was not afraid to call out a negative play- even though he was a Tiger employee. We all knew he was struggling for a while- Let’s appreciate him for the absolute gentleman he always was- regardless of who you were. RIP
