The Tigers will start left-hander Tarik Skubal and right-hander Matt Manning in Friday’s doubleheader. Shortstop Javier Báez, who hasn’t played since Aug. 11, is expected to be activated from the bereavement list and return to the lineup.

Seven of the Tigers’ final 42 games will be played against the Guardians, including the last three games of the regular season at Comerica Park. The Tigers won two of three games in each of the first two series this season. Detroit hasn’t taken a season series from Cleveland since 2015.

The Tigers have hit at least one home run in their past 11 games, the franchise’s longest streak in a single season since launching at least one homer in a 13-game stretch from April 4-18, 2017.
