1985 World Series, Game 6: Cardinals @ Royals

MLB Vault
St. Louis Cardinals 1 at Kansas City Royals 2, F — The Royals were on their way to a comeback after starting the Series down two games. Now back at home again, they had the momentum to even up the Series and force a Game 7. The game was scoreless until the eighth inning, with Danny Cox and Charlie Leibrandt pitching spectacularly against one another. Brian Harper finally broke through in the eighth when he singled home Terry Pendleton to give the Cardinals the lead. In the bottom of the 9th, with the bases loaded, and the Cardinals only two outs away from a World Championship, Dane Iorg looped a two-run single to right, allowing Onix Concepcion and Jim Sundberg to score, giving the Royals another shot at the World Championship in Game 7.
