Cabrera’s two-run shot — one in which he didn’t see leave the park because the snow is thicker than a bowl of oatmeal — is the 488th of his career, and hit number 2,687. He should reach both markers if he stays healthy, which has not been a given for him in recent years.

But if he keeps hitting for opposite field power against pitchers like the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner? He might get there sooner than we think.
