Erie Seawolves
The SeaWolves snapped a two-game slide with a 7-0 shutout win over the Harrisburg Senators on Saturday night at FNB Field. It marked Erie’s first shutout win since July 11.

The SeaWolves took the lead in the top of the first inning against Senators starter Mario Sanchez when Riley Greene led off the game and connected on a solo home run, his 11th, for a 1-0 lead.

Erie added to the lead in the second. Andre Lipcius led off with a walk and Josh Lester belted his 16th home run with one out for a 3-0 lead. John Valente followed with a double and he scored on a Danny Woodrow base hit making it 4-0.

Lester extended the Erie lead to 5-0 in the top of the fourth when he homered for the second time in the game, this time off of reliever Ryan Tapani. It was the fourth multi-homer game in Lester’s career.

In the top of the fifth, it was Kerry Carpenter’s turn as he turned on a Tapani pitch and homered for the ninth time this season, into the bullpen in right making it 6-0.

The game’s final run came in the eighth against reliever Reid Schaller. Lester doubled with two outs for his third hit of the night and he scored on a Valente base knock.
