Detroit Tigers
Combining speed on the basepaths, clutch-hitting, and a second straight lights-out pitching performance, the Tigers took down the NL Central leading Brewers in a 4-1 win. Miguel Cabrera got the scoring started with the 2,976th hit of his career, an RBI double that would tie him with Alan Trammell for 6th place on the franchise’s all-time doubles list. Derek Hill showed off his lightning speed with an RBI triple to left center, and Dustin Garneau provided the power with a solo shot to left field. Matt Manning headlined the Tigers pitchers, throwing 6 innings while allowing 2 hits. And Michael Fulmer closed it out with a 2-inning save.
