It’s never too early to start looking ahead and getting excited about some of baseball’s future stars.

Teams stress the importance of strengthening their farm systems through the Draft and fans are about to get a glimpse of some of the biggest names to watch. Jim Callis, Jonathan Mayo, Greg Amsinger and Harold Reynolds will unveil, break down and analyze the Top 100 Draft Prospects list as part of the Top 100 Draft Prospects show on MLB Network on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. ET.

Termarr Johnson, a second baseman from Mays HS (Ga.) who is highly regarded as one of the best prospects in this year’s class, also will join the show.

In case you miss the unveiling of the Top 100 Draft Prospects list, the show will replay at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday and again on Saturday at 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

In addition to the MLB Network show, there will be plenty of Draft coverage on MLB.com/Pipeline, including scouting reports and tool grades for each of the 100 players on the list. In fact, Amsinger recently joined the Pipeline Podcast to discuss his love of the Draft with Callis, Mayo and Jason Ratliff.

A lot can change between Wednesday and the start of the 2022 Draft, but the initial Top 100 provides a strong breakdown of all the top names. It also offers a bit of insight into how the industry views this upcoming Draft — whether it will be filled with more hitters or pitchers and if the best talent will be coming from the high school or collegiate ranks.

The dates of the 2022 Draft are still to be determined, but the Orioles will have the No. 1 pick for the second time in four years. With the top selection in 2019, Baltimore selected baseball’s current top prospect Adley Rutschman out of Oregon State. The D-backs (No. 2), Rangers (No. 3), Pirates (No. 4) and Nationals (No. 5) round out the top five.
