TOLEDO – The Toledo Mud Hounds fell in the late innings to the Louisville Bats by a score of 7-3.
Michael Pineda opened the series making his rehab start, pitching 4.0 innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out six. Elvin Rodriguez followed Pineda with 3.0 innings of relief,

*TOLEDO – *The Toledo Mud Hounds fell in the late innings to the Louisville Bats by a score of 7-3.

Michael Pineda *opened the series making his rehab start, pitching 4.0 innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out six. *Elvin Rodriguez followed Pineda with 3.0 innings of relief, allowing two runs on four hits, three walks and five strikeouts. Miguel Diaz took the loss, his 5th of the season, falling to 4-5. Diaz pitched 0.2 inning, allowing two runs on one hit, one walk and one strikeout. Sam Howard pitched 0.1 inning, allowing two runs on two hits, allowing one home run. Jacob Barnes pitched 1.0 inning, allowing one hit and one strikeout.

Andre Lipcius led the way offensively, picking up two hits, including an RBI triple. Spencer Torkelson picked up an RBI double for his lone hit. Ryan Kreidler and Josh Lester picked up a hit and scored a run. Daz Cameron also picked up an RBI on a sacrifice fly.

*What’s Next – *The Toledo Mud Hens will play host to the Louisville Bats for game two of the six-game series, with first pitch coming at 6:35 pm EST on Wednesday, August 24th.
