Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera reaches another milestone

Detroit – The Detroit Tigers (64-93) are closing out their 2022 season at home Sunday, hosting the Minnesota Twins (77-81), and designated hitter Miguel Cabrera is poised to hit another career milestone.

Cabrera is back in the starting lineup Sunday after not appearing in Saturday’s game. This will be his 1,000th game played at Comerica Park, joining St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina (Busch Stadium) as the only active major leaguers with 1,000 games played at a single ballpark.

The other starters for Detroit: Akil Baddoo, left field; Riley Greene, center field; Eric Haase, catcher; Johnathan Schoop, second baseman; Jeimer Candelario, third baseman; Spencer Torkelson, first baseman; Ryan Kreidler, shortstop; Victor Reyes, right field.

For Seattle: Jose Miranda, first baseman; Carlos Correa, shortstop; Nick Gordon, second baseman; Gio Urshela, third baseman; Jake Cave, left field; Gary Sánchez, designated hitter; Ryan Jeffers, catcher; Matt Wallner, right field; Gilberto Celestino, center field.

On deck: Mariners

Series: Four games at T-Mobile Park at Seattle, Washington

First pitch: Monday − 9:40 p.m.

TV/radio: All four games, Bally Sports Detroit/97.1 FM
