Detroit Tigers 2024 spring training schedule: Grapefruit League begins Feb. 24 in Lakeland

The Detroit Tigers have Opening Day for the 2024 season scheduled for March 28 at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago against the White Sox.

Before that, the Tigers will play 33 spring training games.

The 2024 Grapefruit League schedule begins Feb. 24 against the New York Yankees at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida. The Tigers face the Tampa Bay Rays on Feb. 25 in Port Charlotte for their first road game of the spring slate.

The Tigers have four split-squad days: Feb. 27 (Toronto Blue Jays in Lakeland, Baltimore Orioles in Sarasota), March 7 (Blue Jays in Lakeland, Yankees in Tampa), March 15 (Atlanta Braves in Lakeland, Blue Jays in Dunedin), March 23 (Yankees in Lakeland, Blue Jays in Dunedin).

Sixteen of the 33 spring training games will be played at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland.

REGULAR SEASON: Tigers 2024 schedule: Opening Day on March 28 at Chicago White Sox

The spring training schedule concludes March 26 against the Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The Tigers begin the 2024 regular season on the road with three games against the White Sox (March 28, March 30-31) and three games against the New York Mets (April 1-3).

The Tigers’ home opener is April 5 against the Oakland Athletics at Comerica Park.
