Detroit Free Press

It would be considered a little early for the Flying Tigers schedule to come out. But this year is a little different.

The Detroit Tigers announced the Lakeland Flying Tigers Grapefruit League game schedule for the 2024 spring season, which will mark Detroit’s 88th season at TigerTown in Lakeland — the longest running relationship between a Major League team and a current Spring training host city. Among the teams to visit next year will be the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Blue Jays and Braves.

Additionally, the 2024 spring season will mark the club’s 59th consecutive season of playing at Publix Field at Joker Marchan Stadium.

Lakeland will begin its Grapefruit League schedule hosting the Yankees on Saturday, Feb. 24, which is the first of three visits the Yankees will make to Lakeland during Spring training (March 14 and March 23). The home schedule also features several visits from the Blue Jays (Feb. 27 and March 7), the Phillies (March 1 and March 19) and the Pirates (March 2 and March 9). Included on the schedule are also the Astros (Feb. 26, Red Sox (March 4), Mets (March 21), the Twins (March 12), Tampa Bay Rays (March 24), Braves (March 15) and the Orioles (March 17).

Right now, the Lakeland Tigers are accepting deposits to the purchase of new season tickets for the upcoming 2024 Spring training. Folks can secure a spot with a $100 per seat deposit by visiting tigers.com/spring or by calling 863-413-4140. Full season ticket plans are $280, and tickets for seats start at $6.

Current season ticket holders will receive information on renewing their tickets in the fall.
