PITTSBURGH — Michael Lorenzen’s breakout season will continue in a new home. The Tigers are trading the All-Star right-hander to the Phillies ahead of Tuesday’s 6 p.m. ET Trade Deadline in exchange for infield prospect Hao-Yu Lee, Philadelphia’s No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, a source told MLB.com. The clubs have not confirmed the deal.
The Diamondbacks are among the clubs that have contacted the Tigers regarding Michael Lorenzen, reports Jon Morosi of MLB.com (Twitter link). The Orioles, Astros, Marlins and Rays have all previously been linked to the Detroit righty — although Tampa Bay has since acquired Aaron Civale to fill their rotation. Lorenzen is very likely to land somewhere else
