COMSTOCK PARK, MI – – February 5th, 2020- – For a decade, West Michigan Whitecaps fans have been helping to determine some of the Whitecaps menu items. Fans and foodies have submitted their food ideas and the public voted to determine the winner. Today, the Whitecaps announced a new search!
COMSTOCK PARK, MI – – February 5th, 2020- – For a decade, West Michigan Whitecaps fans have been helping to determine some of the Whitecaps menu items. Fans and foodies have submitted their food ideas and the public voted to determine the winner. Today, the Whitecaps announced a new search! Beginning immediately, the public will vote from a list of those winners from the past ten years. The winning food will return to Fifth Third Ballpark for the 2020 season for fans to enjoy!
The public is encouraged to vote today through Friday, February 21st at https://www.milb.com/west-michigan/fans/fanfoodvote The food with the most votes will be revealed on Monday, March 2nd.
“We’ve been delighted with the response to our new foods over the past 10 years,” said Matt Timon, director of food and beverage for the Whitecaps. “Today we celebrate the past decade by voting on bringing back a fan favorite.”
This year’s fan vote follows the 2019 winner “Rocky Balburrito.” A cheesesteak rolled into a burrito with liberal doses of cheese, onions and green peppers and then deep fried.
“We’re already getting requests to add the ‘Fifth Third Burger’ to the decade list,” Timon added, “but that debuted in 2009 and some fans are still trying to finish theirs!” The 5,000 calorie “Fifth Third Burger” received national and international attention that year. It was a one and two-thirds pound of beef, five slices of cheese, salsa, nacho cheese, Fritos, Chili, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream – all on an 8-inch sesame-seed bun. It was meant to feed four, but fans could get a T-shirt if they ate it by themselves! It was retired in 2018.

2019: Rocky Balburrito

A combination of turkey pot roast, gravy, cheese curds and french fries wrapped up in a pita.

Buffalo chicken and bleu cheese covered tater tot concoction
2014: Augger Dogger
Deep-fried hot dog on a stick wrapped in spiral potato chips
2013: Baco
It’s the taco with a bacon shell.

Fresh-cut vegetables with hummus made from chickpeas.
2010: Declaration of Indigestion
Half-pound foot-long hot dog covered in a Philly cheese steak (steak, cheese, peppers and onions) and served on a gigantic sub roll.
The public is encouraged to vote today through February 21. The food with the most votes will be revealed on Monday, March 2 and return to the Whitecaps menu for the 2020 season!
