Tigers put outfielder Daz Cameron on IL, Robbie Grossman activated

Detroit News

Detroit — Outfielder Daz Cameron had a triple, a double and knocked in two runs in Pittsburgh Wednesday, helping the Tigers beat the Pirates, 3-1.

On Friday, he was placed on the injured list.

The Tigers did not list an injury, which typically means he failed a COVID-19 test. It is up to the player whether they want that information made public or not.

The Tigers clubhouse opens at 3:10 p.m.

Cameron, getting extended playing time for the first time this season, was 6-for-18 this month with two doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBIs and three runs scored.

Robbie Grossman, who had been on the injured list with a neck sprain, was activated and was expected to be in the lineup against the Blue Jays on Friday night.
